YES! i finally got a mobile camera. I just need a firewire cable...but I shouldn't have to worry to much about that, second hand, they're actually not much. The camera itself works pretty well, except for in very low light, so I probably will have to buy a light to put on the top as well. anyways, that's all for now! bye!

Video camera. I want one.

so here is the camcorder I am looking at getting. Sony has had a reputation with me and my family for building nice, long lasting equipment. ( I can't count how many times I've dropped my cd player and it survived.) So far I have been content to rely on other's electronics to capture my memories... but now *Sigh* its time to relinquish some cash, and buy something of my own. irritatingly enough, I discovered that most camcorders are either really priceY (well, okay pricey for me) or pretty dinky. Maybe I should just save up. But I probably won't. I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head, if I don't do something about them, I'll explode.

Knoxville

I will probably do another podcast not to far into the future, since Erin's gone 95% time thanks to her new job as dog nanny. I soo wish I had pictures from working in Knoxville . But such things will have to wait until I get a digital camera or some other memory recording device.
I enjoyed painting the bell the most, (I'm not sure I can explain why). Somehow it made me feel good to see the worn bell brightened with a fresh coat of white paint. It's amazing what a some buckets of paint and willing workers will do for a building. I wish most of all that I had before/after pictures of everything. when the workers were done, the building looked almost new. The saints coming in for Knoxville camp meeting will be pleasantly surprised. once again, I lack a suitable stopping point. of course, I could just stop typ

yeah, the last post was a i'm so sleepy i should not be allowed near my computer post. But no, I was not bashing the people who read this blog. (kudos to ya'll) I originally wrote it for face book's notes...and believe almost NOBODY (accept me occasionally) reads those. well, with that out of the way, I have more cheerful silliness to share with los todos. Weston just turned....um let me get back with you on that...But I am authorized to tell you that he had a backwards birthday party. When I get the time, I'll post some pictures. Erin FINALLY got her dream job at a doggy day care, where she happily earns money while serving dogs...eh, that actually doesn't sound so great...but SHE loves it, and that is ALL that matters.
Watch out world! Robyn Thames has completed drivers ed and is well on her to getting her permit! woo-hoo! Her driving instructor was so pleased, he said, and I quote: "Robyn, students like you are the reason I teach driver's ed" well....Okay, so that didn't happen, but he did say that I did well. pooehy. I have reached a stopping and don't know how to stop.

Yeah, so since I'm blogging, you have probably guessed that I survived teaching 40 kids unscathed. (deep breath.) it was a lot of fun acutaully, everybody caught on to what I was doing really quickly. I was teaching origami at the weaverville library by the way.

I'm supposed to be doing an origami class for the library, and they called earlier today and told me that I'm going to have 40 kids ages 7 up, to teach origami.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! how one earth can I do that? I don't know if I'll have any hair after tomorrow.

As you can see, I'm trying out some customization on my blog using the gimp ( a really great program that is like owning a free version of photo shop). I'm still not very good at it, and the header you see now is really just a stand-in at the moment while I prepare a master piece :).

I'm working on another podcast just as silly as my first. It should probably be up by at least next week, but with my nutty schedule, I can't promise anything.

HAPPY B-DAY EVAN! Evan just turned 11 today, and what could be described as the most amazing coincidental birthday ever. Not to long ago, Evan was talking to a neighbor, and happened to tell her he liked lasagna. It turns out that her daughter's birthday is a day before his, and That neighbor was making a lasagna for her, and announced that she would make Evan one as well. And she did! It was delicious. That was yesterday. Today we went to the 4-h office, and Rachel Winebarger just happened to be doing a presentation on cake decorating, and gave out cake to everyone present in honor of Evan's birthday.

aaaannnnd lastly...........I forgot to practice piano almost the entire week and We (Erin, Kristen, Weston, Evan and I) have a recital this Sunday! AAAAAHHHH! Welll, I think that's gonna be it. g'night mates.

hello, anybody out there? it's been sooooooo long since I last posted. I'm still trying to get internet on my computer, but so far no good. Well, here's an interesting thing to do if you're bored, google yourself. I found out that someone had posted about me and sis.Ellen's family on thier blog, as well this one. It's more fun googling yourself if you have a unique name (sarahs and Jennies will probably kinda get lost in the crowd). Well, let's what else is going on....hmmmm... oh, yeah, we went to Asheboro zoo friday. (I so wanted to see Bison, but by the time my group go to it they were gone :() I'll try to steal...oops get some pics from Erin to post here but I can't promise anything...

Yay! I'm doing this with my new, exciting computer. Basic rundown of last weekend:
1. went to 4-h teen retreat. had lots of fun, met new people, learned how to make my own flashlight. Got to lay on a bed of nails, (science class) poke a balloon without popping it, and was the only one my table not to really learn how to jump a penny over a pencil in one puff of breath. if you want to see the humiliating photos of me trying to do so, Erin will probably have them up in not too long. anyways, that's all for now. ttfn.

COMPUTER FEVER!!

So, because I know you guys have been sick of looking at the large ebay logo and the announcement of my (mediocre) success, here's some more news...I FINALLY HAVE MY OWN COMPUTER AND IT'S COMING THURSDAY AND I CAN BARELY WAIT AND I AM TELLING EVERYONE WHO LISTEN TO ME!!! that said, I have nothing else of interest to bring to the table at this time. the pic above is what my computer looks like. it might look like a dinosaur but the computer I'm on now (at the library) is a windows 2000 as well at it works great. Wow, I am beginning to realize (to my horror) I am slowly becoming a .....WORDY BLOGGER!! you know, one of those bloggers who never post a picture, who write text-book sized posts about cheerios! well it's either that or a Web-pics blogger. Web pics blogger (n) one who posts pictures they pull from the web searches like Google, and posts them continually. But what can I say? I don't own a camera *sniff*** so this is all I have to offer. do y'all forgive me? but anyways about the topic I have typed in up there. You guys have patiently suffered through my spelling errors, but shall not suffer any longer! for I, Robyn-Lanae Thames have discovered this day SPELL CHECK! just say no to bad spelling! (Too bad there's no grammar check). anyways, I just wanted to share that poignant moment with you. God bles u.

Driving lesson

Well, I went for my first sort of real driving lesson today. My dad took me to the church parking lot, and I gave it a go. Progress report: although at times I felt perilously close to certain destruction I managed to emerge from that driving session with no broken bones, and without sending my dad into cardiac arrest. Also, the church property is unscathed as is Bro. Jeff's car. I hadn't been too eager to go for my driver's permit, after all I had three drivers ahead of me. Why should I bother? Now I know. There's something powerful about pressing down on the gas and feeling the engine respond. Something thrilling about the chance to control something so large and powerful. so, I shall go for my permit hopefully sometime this summer.

Had a lot of fun tonight at sis. Michelle's. The Gilliland kids were here as well...it's been pretty wild. We had a delicous beef straganof, ( I don't think I spelled that right) but it's like spaggeti with macaroni noodles instead of the usual. one of the wildest 'services' ever was conducted in the ender living room. the Gillilands new two songs nearly by heart and belted them out at the top of thier lungs while racing around the living room table. This is only one of several incidents but it's the one I remember most. anyways, good night.

since I know how boring it is to read about my love for certian Ice Cream or my blog following (or lack thereof :) I have instead provided you with something to look at. A picture is worth a thousand words right?

oooh lala ! I LOVE bluebell Ice cream. really, after you've had it, there's no going back. I personally like vanila the best. it really tastes as good as home made.

On colds and sinusses

ugh, don't you just hate colds? Normally it's not that big a deal, but when my sence of taste mysteriously (or not) dissapears, I start having a problem. I love eating and it's disgusting putting something in your mouth and only feeling it. (or maybe it's more disgusting writing a post about colds...but hey I don't have a constantly exciting life so I have to use something!) SOOO anyways I went on this quest searching for the exclir for cold and sinus problems. I am sharing the formula with you, dear reader, so you don't have to search as well. this is what I did to get my taste back by four-something.

1. sip hot water (with no taste sipping hot water isn't so bad)

2.blow my nose a lot

3.search on the internet

4. contemplate drinking yogi tea

5.I can't stand the stuff so I didn't drink it, but I did do the yoga suggestion on the side. it was excellent.

6.sniff some of this stuff that was strong enough to penetrate through my stopped up nose (note to self: if something is that strong, never sniff it without a cold)

Aaaand....I think that's it. Hope this helps you it worked for me!! and oh yes, if you have better subject matter for me to write about please send it in!!!
